Depp aside, the acting is almost uniformly atrocious -- although it's hard to make hay out of this dialogue.. . Ambitious but repetitive.. It's one of the few major releases so far this year that is worth a grown-up's time.. Take away the drugs, and this is the story of a boring life in wholesale.. .
